What a waste of fund.

It came to my attention that there are some RM40bil in assets owned by deceased persons in the country were frozen and yet to be claimed by their heirs. That is a lot of money and no body can deny that! If i want to break that amount to each individual in Malaysia, it will be about RM 1472 per person (2007 Malaysian population:27.17M).
Malaysian unemployment figures showed about 383,500 (Malaysian economic report 2007/08: figure is against total labour force). Assume that the money is allowed to channel to these unemployed people for the purpose of training and skill upgrading, wouldn't this will help them to prepare themselves be it in skill or knowledge? By teaching them the current job skill and knowledge demanded by the manufacturing and service sector (which i think the current education policy fails to grasp) the government may solve the problem of mismatch created between job seekers with irrelevant skill and knowledge.
Ok, all said than done! We all know that according to the Malaysian Distribution Act 1958, these monies are not to be channeled for other purposes or other people deemed not to be the inheritance of deceased monies. The deceased money can only be passed to a legal representative prior to be given to the rightful beneficiaries.
We surely do not want to see that the wealth that we created be frozen for a duration of time during which our loved ones couldn't benefit out of it. It will really be a sad moment to see that our beloved dependants face a financial constraint situation and the wealth we created couldn't help when they really needed the most. The current RM40 bil unclaimed money is hugh!
In order to release oneself from this issue, it is always beneficial to write a Will. A Will is a declaration intended to have a legal effect of the intentions of a testator (will writer) with respect to his/her property desired to be carried into effect after his/her death. Alternatively, a Trust is also can be opened!
