Part 4: Representation & Evaluation of Data

Determining Work Sampling Results
This stage involves calculating and evaluating information collected during shop floor observations to determine the final results of the work sampling activity[span_0](start_span)[span_0](end_span).

Step-by-Step Calculation Procedures

STEP 1
Observation Sheet Results
Get sub-totals per operation item and per operator/machine, ensuring both totals match equally[span_1](start_span)[span_1](end_span).
STEP 2
Ratio & Chart Calculation
Transfer totals to a calculation chart, standardize item descriptions across observers, and calculate RO, WRL, and Excluded ratios[span_2](start_span)[span_2](end_span)[span_3](start_span)[span_3](end_span).
STEP 3
Net Output Ratio (Net OMH) Calculation
Total observed operator man-hours (MH), calculate net output man-hours (OMH) per product type, and determine the final performance metric using the formula: (Net OMH / Total MH of observed operators) × 100[span_4](start_span)[span_4](end_span)[span_5](start_span)[span_5](end_span).
